By 2012 Denmead Baptist Church will:

Continue to be a growing community of faith.

Where every person is valued, cared for and has a part to play.

Be recognised as a significant part of Denmead, and have increased our presence in communities close by.

Have a staff team suitable for ministry to all ages – both inside and outside the church.

Make time to listen to God, each other and our communities and be ready to respond.

Vision Thrusts

The Vision Thrusts indicate some of the ways that we believe God is calling us to do, by faith, what He is asking of us. They are presented here in their broadest terms, but they are being developed into measurable targets through which we can identify how God has done 'more than we ask or imagine'.

Spirituality

Prayer – regular intercession on our own and with others

Engaging with spiritual questions in community – public responses

Living the gospel – being good news as friends and neighbours

Shape

Backbone of church is small groups – everybody matters – everybody belongs

Variety of worship opportunities e.g. times and styles

Clear understanding of Church Meeting, Deacons, Minister, other Leaders

Awareness of how we can be a church of 150 adults (plus 70 children)

Resources and Buildings

Appropriate buildings - built and paid for

Staff (paid & volunteers) appropriate for work – Admin, Youth Work, Mission, Older People, Families, single adults, Counselling, etc

Appropriate technology/environment to deliver programme and be attractive to those outside

Mission

Integrated Young people’s work – 0-18 years

Integrated older adults work – retiring, third age, fourth age

Integrated adult work – e.g. supporting parents, social outreach, etc
