Overseas MissionWe understand mission to be something that is local and immediate and also follows Jesus command in Matthew chapter 28 verse 19 to "Go and make disciples of all nations". We have created a policy that seeks to make clear how we support overseas mission, which is given below: Policy for Supporting Overseas Missionary DNA * Mission is central to our Values, Purpose and Vision. * Overseas mission is a significant part of our missionary calling. * We want to encourage every member to take seriously the call of God to be involved in mission. * We want to facilitate the release of resources to support mission overseas.
Missionary Relationships The New Testament churches facilitated overseas mission in 3 ways: * they Sent those God called to be missioners * they Supported local workers to be missioners * they gave Sacrificially to see projects released The key to each of these was relationships.
* To SEND those God calls to work for Him overseas. * To SUPPORT relational partners in their work for Him overseas. * To give SACRIFICIALLY to mission partners overseas.
SENDING Church Leaders will discern with any church member the call of God on their life to serve overseas through short or long term mission. We will firstly look at placing people with a partner agency, and if not appropriate then other agencies will be considered. A decision to SEND will be taken by a Church Meeting.
